I’m Mélanie, but you can also call me Mel or Melody. Born in a quaint village in the French part of Switzerland, surrounded by two amazing brothers, my multicultural upbringing—courtesy of my Portuguese dad and Swiss-German mom—fueled my love for exploring the world and understanding human behaviors in various settings, including schools and Kitas. After three rewarding years in social work, a sabbatical year led me to meet my German partner in Asia, prompting a move to Berlin.
Through my roles as a teacher and childcare educator, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with a lot of parents. This experience not only deepened my understanding of the challenges of parenting in our individualistic society but also revealed a significant gap in the support system for parents. Recognizing this lack of support became a pivotal moment in my journey, unveiling my passion as a Doula.

What sets me apart is my intuitive and open-minded approach to doula care. I understand that every family is unique, and there is no one “right” way to give birth or raise a child. That’s why I’m here to help you navigate the choices and decisions that come with this transformative time, while respecting your values, beliefs, and individuality.
On a personal note, I’m also on my own journey of healing the relationship with my body. It’s been a challenging but rewarding process, giving me a deeper understanding and appreciation for the incredible strength and resilience of the female body.
If you’re looking for a doula who is passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to helping you and your family thrive, I would be honored to work with you. Let’s connect and explore how I can best support you on this amazing journey!

The birth can be a transcendent moment in a woman’s life, and that’s why I was inspired to become a Doula in the first place. Today, I am proud to say that I have pursued this passion with @doulatraingsint. I commit to working with compassion, respect, empathy, and love to support all types of families and individuals on their unique journey. I am ready to support ALL pregnant individuals, whether they plan a natural birth, a cesarean section, or a VBAC, whether it’s at home, in a birthing center, or at the hospital.

I have been an avid follower of Gail Tully’s work for many years. She shares invaluable insights on approaching birth and pregnancy from a physiological perspective. I had the honor of attending one of her workshops in Amsterdam, an experience that profoundly shaped my approach to supporting clients. I apply some of her techniques, such as The Jiggle, and incorporate other exercises and positions to offer support for pregnant and laboring mothers.

My curiosity and admiration for the female body, particularly the breastfeeding process, propelled me to delve deeper into learning and practical experience. I have undergone various training sessions and spent a few weeks working in postpartum rooms at a hospital, where I received guidance and learned from professionals while assisting new mothers during the initial stages of their breastfeeding journey.

In 2022, I worked as a doula for a few months in a hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. This extraordinary experience opened my eyes to the birthing world, and the inspiring individuals I met deeply influenced me.
As a doula committed to the well-being of mothers and babies, I wholeheartedly encourage you to join me in supporting “The Zoe Project.” Your donations, no matter their size, can make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable women and their families. Together, we can contribute to creating a world where every woman feels supported, empowered, and loved during this transformative period.
